Guest Reviews

A fun place to stay! by Shana 05/20/2019
It was fun to stay in a place so remote where we could watch the horses, deer, and stars. It’s about 45 minutes from Arches and about an hour from Canyonlands (both Island in the Sky and Needles) which was good enough for us. The cabin was very clean, but it’s far from modern. The WiFi didn’t work at all, apparently due to reasons outside the owners’ control. We expected this from reading reviews, but I don’t think the property should be advertised as having WiFi if it’s known not to work. There’s no cell signal either so be sure to bring a good book with you. There wasn’t a whole lot of furniture on which to unpack or relax on. However, if you’re just using this as a base camp for Arches and Canyonlands and don’t plan on spending a lot of time here, it’s more than sufficient.
Wonderful place to stay by Willie 05/05/2019
wonderful place to stay. clean and quiet. a bit far from Moab but loved it
Would stay again, loved it here! by Penny 10/31/2018
Very clean and well taken care of. Great decor and beautiful setting. We enjoyed the deer every night. Kind of remote (35 miles from Moab) so had to do some planning before hand. Would stay again!
Peaceful place to stay! by Patrick 10/31/2018
What a great peaceful place to stay! (Cabin #2) It is what they say, slightly off the grid, no cell, limited internet, quiet, beautiful sunrises & star gazing right outside your cabin. Lots of mule deer, coyotes howling occasionally, and you can assist in the feedings for the horse rescue. We couldn't wait to get back in the evenings from the circus of Moab & the crowds of Arches NP to enjoy the peacefulness. If you must be "connected 24/7" this probably isn't for you, but we would highly recommend to anyone & would stay again.
Super cute cabin! by Candice 10/31/2018
Super cute cabin out in La Sal. We didn’t arrive until after dark so it was a little difficult to find, but there were plenty of helpful notes once we arrived for check in! Definitely would recommend!
Comfy Cabin Getaway by Juliet 09/05/2018
We had a wonderful stay at #3 Moab Mountain Elk's Grove Cabin. It is off the beaten path, very roughly around 25 miles from Moab, Monticello and the Colorado border. For a summer stay it works great if you will be out and about during the day in the National Parks etc and at the cabin in the mornings and evenings, due to being 14 miles from Hwy. 191 and also there's no AC, but it cools off very nicely at night and there are ceiling fans in all the rooms. You can see so many stars out there, and there is a porch to sit outside. The cabin has plenty of room, a full basic kitchen, sinks and mirrors in all the bedrooms, very comfy and cozy beds and linens including thick towels. Loved the La Sal Mountain views as well. This is an amazing and beautiful area. Cabin is a good value and has a wonderful casual vibe. Be aware that during our stay the internet didn't actually work and there was no cell reception at the cabin. We regained cell reception on the way to Moab (on Hwy 191), our jumping off point for Canyonlands and Arches.
Cabin itself is really good with all you need by Mark 04/19/2018
Cabin itself is really good with all you need and Mountain View’s. But it is located in remote area in deep forest. Getting in and out to Moab isn’t difficult during night time. You have to plan to reach cabin before dusk, otherwise there are no good directions until you see the ranch sign, it is almost 6 miles off road. You donot need 4x4. I wish they put more signs to better navigate with this place. No wifi and any stores at least 40 miles. If you have really small children, I donot suggest . Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay.
very nice three bedroom, one shower side by side cabin with sink and vanity in each room by Melanie Badtke 10/18/2017
Great elk's grove cabin! Great views! Very clean and Well maintained and organized. We came late in the evening but our cabin was ready and waiting. Has satellite tv, which we didn't expect and was very easy to find from the directions given. It's only downside is that it is so far from Moab, but that is a plus too! The mountain views were great and the wildlife was nice to see - saw our first osprey while going out one morning. The night sky is phenomenal there -you can see the milky way very well! We will visit again someday! Great experience.
very nice overall by Deepa Raghunathan 10/05/2017
Loved the elk's grove cabin. It was a lovely, large place that can host a large number of people. Very peaceful and quiet. Make sure you know how far away it is from the parks though. Limited wifi, no hairdryer. But very nice overall. If you like relaxing mornings, try to take some time to just enjoy!

Response: Great to hear you enjoyed your stay! Southeast Utah is quite a large area and the parks are spread all over. We enjoy offering vacation rentals that are centrally located among several parks and monuments so you have options in every direction. Hope to have you back soon!
beautiful setting! by Joanie Praamsma 08/24/2017
Had a wonderful time in a quiet and peaceful setting. Our hosts and were friendly and helpful. The cabin was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Don't count on internet working or cell service. But do count on deer out your window, beautiful setting!

Exactly what we wanted by B Sanford 04/30/2016
This was a great cabin in a beautiful setting. The cabin is quite spacious and is meticulously kept. We had no issues at all, and the actual cabin layout and outfitting was completely consistent with the airbnb description. The construction of the cabin was fascinating - clearly a lot of skill and attention to detail went into the building process. The cabin is located at the base on several mountains, which are quite picturesque. It was exactly what we were looking for and we very much enjoyed our time in the area.”
Very Accommodating by Josh 04/09/2016
Elks Grove Cabin“The owner was accommodating of our late arrival to the ranch, and we were very impressed by the cabin. Very clean and comfortable, with great views all around. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed. Though it it a good way from town, it was nice to be out of the desert every night. I would certainly stay here again and recommend to friends. ”

My wife and I stayed in the Cabin for a long weekend. It is a much different experience than a hotel. The cabin is about 30 min from Moab but the drive was very worth it, and it was a beautiful drive. The cabin is clean and well furnished. It was a very pleasant experience for us and I will stay there again.

Response: Hey, thank you for coming and enjoying this beautiful place with us. It is people like you that make us enjoy so much what we do! Thank you
My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the 3 bedroom cottage during April and enjoyed it very much. by Judith T 05/04/2015
My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the 3 bedroom cottage during April and enjoyed it very much. It was equipped with everything we needed. Nice and quiet and away from the crowds. We cooked dinner three nights on the propane bbq on the front porch, very relaxing. We liked the remoteness, yet it was close enough to drive less than an hour to the National Parks for hiking. Out the front door, we were greeted with snow capped mountains--beautiful. We counted 12 deer one early evening munching on some green grass, only feet from the cabin.
The staff operating the place were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Response: Yes, the deer and other animals are so fun to watch. Thank you for enjoying this with us!
We stayed at the Mt Peale cabins over Christmas and it was, by far, the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER for our family! by Jackie 12/29/2014
We stayed at the Mt Peale cabins over Christmas and it was, by far, the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER for our family! Cabin is awesome and perfect if you want to "get away!" Very "quaint" and you felt like you were up in the mountains all by yourself! Great views! Would stay there in a heartbeat and highly recommend!
I stayed at Mt. by Phillip Norman 08/16/2013
I stayed at Mt. Peale Cabins for four nights in the first week of August, 2013. The three bedroom cabin was perfect for our family foursome. Where it was 102° in Moab, it was twenty degrees cooler at Mt. Peale. The 36 mile drive was a really good deal, up to plateau above 7000 ft elevation. We got much-needed coolness and quiet, and fun watching deer and rabbits. A rabbit, and the deer, had the same huge ears!
