So sweet and wonderful! by Amber 06/12/2019
This little cabin was so sweet and wonderful. The nature surrounding was absolutely beautiful. Jerry and his wife were so kind; I will definitely be back! The only thing I would perhaps suggest would be a small space heater in the cabin if possible 🙂
Our first time "glamping" it, we loved it!!! by Gretchen 06/12/2019
“My boyfriend and I stayed at the Primrose Cabin in May and it was just perfect for us. This was our first time "glamping" and we are definitely fans! It had enough amenities to be practical but rustic enough to enjoy the beautiful area around you. Great location- close enough to all the sights, quiet and secluded, and they had extensive information on things to do around the area. Our cabin (and the entire campground) was very clean, well-stocked, and cozy. It did get pretty chilly at night (and we're from the Midwest!) but there were more than enough blankets and comforters provided that it really wasn't an issue. The hot water bottles they provide were a really nice touch! The bathroom facilities were great- very clean, nice design, HOT water- the water pressure in the showers was a little less than what we're used to but the hot temperatures definitely made up for that. We loved having access to a kitchen and used it everyday for breakfast and some dinners. The only essentials we needed to buy were coffee filters and pepper. Monticello is close enough for gas and groceries- Blue Mountain Foods was a great little grocery store with everything you need and good prices, and Clark's Market in Blanding was good as well. There aren't too many restaurants to choose from in Monticello, but we wanted to cook most of our meals ourselves anyway. We did eat at the R&F our first night there and it was pretty good- homestyle cooking, big portions, etc. Overall, we would definitely return to Primrose, or any other of the cabins at Canyonlands Lodging, and we were really impressed with the entire experience- definitely exceeded our expectations!”
A lovely place to stay by CArol 05/20/2019
A lovely place to stay for summer camping holidays. Excellent facilities in a beautiful area, and great hosts.
Wonderful, enjoyed it here. by Esperanza 10/30/2018
The cabin was as clean as a cabin can be! Nice and secluded, quiet hours were wonderful, bathrooms were outstanding, loved the common area, good location for various adventures in the surrounding area or to just lounge around! It does get pretty cold come fall and of course into winter, but we didn't even need to use the water bladders for our feet; the multiple comforters were more than enough! However, you will be cold outside of the bed for sure. It's not meant to be a hotel, but classic camping cabin, so expect to bundle up when walking around inside. They had a binder full of resources on local town services, different national parks, fishing, etc. with pictures, hiking routes, etc. We had some trouble with our locks, but they helped us figure it out! 100% would recommend and would stay here again in the future!
You wont feel like you are roughing it. by Ryan 10/30/2018
Metal shed style cabin experience under a starry sky. Clean campground and facilities. You won't feel like you're at a resort, and you won't feel like you're really "roughing it
A great place to stay! by Jason 10/30/2018
This property is delightfully in the center of the SE Utah wilderness, but with just enough of the quaint touches of civilization. Check in was easy and the space very clean. We loved the little extras to help you explore the area along with very nice bathrooms to clean up in. The bed was amazing with plenty of blankets for the cool evenings. Very quick to respond with questions and located pretty close to many of the sites. Thanks much!
Best camping EVER! by Lauren 09/07/2018
It was the best form of camping we have all experienced! There was so many resources, a kitchen, very nice bathrooms, running water and very pleasant sleeping conditions! Our favorite Airbnb stay of the trip. It was only about an hour from arches national park. Also, we arrived in the dark and Jerry’s directions were foolproof!
Simple shed style camping by Tatum 09/07/2018
Super simple shed style camping. The bathrooms and shower were nice to have. It was perfect for what we needed.
Clean comfy and cozy! by Joanne 09/07/2018
I very much enjoyed my stay at the “Primrose.” It was clean, comfy and cozy. The bathroom was roomy and well appointed. Rustic yet classy. Would definitely recommend to others.
These guys have thought of everything by Nora 07/11/2018
These guys have thought of everything - spotlessly clean - well equipped kitchen - warm blankets .... The owners love on site and happily helped us with some travel advice - it we are back in the area - I wouldn't hesitate to stay again
A HUGE Value! by Meredith 07/11/2018
This was my favorite place of my entire Utah trip. The views of the stars were incredible and everything was sparkling clean and cozy. A HUGE value.
Best toilet EVER! by Robin 07/11/2018
My wife said this is the best toilet she has ever seen in USA! The place is easy to find, clean and comfortable. We saw deer about 5M from our cabin door!
Offered everything you could ask for by Tabitha 06/13/2018
We have had a great stay at Canyonlands lodge. The place was clean, well maintained and offered everything you could ask for. It can get a bit chilly during the night but that’s the part of experience. Best parts: location and night sky views

Off the beaten path by Andree 06/13/2018
This location is very off the main road, which we loved! You can see the other cabins but it felt very private. We loved going into the park during the day and having a little cabin to go back to. Remembers to read the welcome binder, there is a lot of great information in it
Loved staying here! by Lauren 05/25/2018
Loved staying here! Was so unique, clean, and secluded at such a reasonable rate. The bedding was warm and clean and the showers/bathroom was immaculate! Such a great place to stay if your passing through!”
Great place to stay! by Sarah 05/07/2018
Great place to stay -- very clean, cozy beds. Can be cold at night but fine with the blankets provided.
This place is wonderful! by Will 05/01/2018
This place is wonderful! I only stayed the one night due to my itinerary, but I regret not staying longer. It's a terrific blend of rustic and modern (hot showers!) and is centrally located to parks
The Primrose cabin is a great home base!! by John 04/09/2018
The Primrose cabin is a great home base from which to explore all the insane/majestic splendor of SE Utah. The cabin is just as advertised, and access to the kitchen, fire ring and picnic pavilion (as well as the sparkling clean restrooms) makes this a major step up the comfort ladder from camping. I was certainly grateful for the well-constructed buildings the one night it poured. Would happily return
Cannot wait to come back! by Allie Lowry 10/09/2017
Wonderful location, comfortable beds, welcoming host and clean/quaint communal areas. Jerry came to greet us upon arrival at the Primrose cabin, then we had a lovely and quiet stay on the ranch. It was fun to meet folks at the Pavilion during breakfast before hiking and sightseeing in the gorgeous Canyonlands. Overall, great! Cannot wait to come back!
scenic place to stay if the weather is nice! by Cassidy Putney 10/05/2017
This primrose cabin in the woods is a scenic place to stay if the weather is nice! Unfortunately during our stay the weather was very rainy and the temperature was sub 40 degrees - leaving for a very chilly evening. Overall, it was a good place to stay and cook our dinner and stay out of the rain.
a perfect getaway by Jay Lewis 09/21/2017
This stay is in the middle of nowhere, but that's not a bad thing. At night, the stars and Milky Way are visible. There's no traffic noise or loud neighbors. The primrose cabin is a perfect getaway location to unwind and appreciate nature.
Vacation by Anita 09/15/2017
We wanted to try staying in different places this year on vacation. We also wanted to be able to see the stars at night So we found these little cabins. We stayed in the Primrose glamping cabin. They are very clean and look new. It is pretty isolated which is what you need to be able to enjoy the stars! There is a public bathhouse, but everything you need is provided. We would stay again.
we will be back! by Brooke 06/10/2017
Though we only stayed one night, this is definitely a place we will return. We stayed in the Primrose cabin, which was exactly as described. We only had one complaint - and complaint is really to strong a word... This cabin is located right next to the fire pit. On our night there were a few guys sitting next to the pit with a fire hanging out enjoying the night. They were not loud at all. But because of the location of the cabin, we heard their conversation and music. We also had to close the windows due to the smoke. Again, we really hate calling this a complaint as had we been a part of their group, we would have been sitting next to the fire as well. As I mentioned above, we will be back but will probably ask for a different cabin.
Quaint and Comfortable by Kaitlin K 05/29/2017
We had a wonderful stay at the Primrose cabin on our way through Utah. Positive: The bathrooms are cleaner than most 4-star hotels, but the water pressure in the shower is a little weak. The cabin was very quaint and comfortable. Plenty of blankets to keep warm at night. Had an awesome experience overall.
This place is clean, simple, and peaceful. by Beth 04/08/2017
This will be my first choice to stay if in the area again! Gets a little cold at night, but I expected that. Hosts did a wonderful job making sure I had what I needed
Great Unique Experience by Emma 11/21/2016
“Such a great, unique, experience! The location is 10 or so miles from the nearest towns with great views of the nearby mountains. It's like camping but with the comfort of a bed, shower, etc. Even though the bathroom is separate from the cabin, the bathroom is very nice. We heard coyotes, saw deer, rabbits and other things you might not see if you were staying in a hotel in town”
Very cute and quaint! by Ann 06/01/2016
Stayed in the Barn Silver/Trigger rooms. Found it to be something out of the ordinary, cute and quaint. Loved that the dogs and grand kids could roam around and get their energy worked out.
One issue we had was the fact that firewood wasn't provided. We are new at staying at a camping place, so maybe this is the norm, but I think it should be stated in the online site so people aren't surprised and/or disappointed when they're told to buy some firewood in town or drag your own in from the property.
OWNER NOTE: There is firewood here and I showed you where it was, right next to the cabin area. Sorry you missed that communique.
Couldn't be more perfect by Molly 04/09/2016
Loved staying in the horse barn! It couldn't have been more perfect. It was a hard place to leave. Thank you!
Great Experience by Tina and Chuck 04/09/2016
Great host, clean, and such a delightful place to stay. We have been telling all our friends and family. We stayed in the Trigger and Silver rooms. Rustic experience that was right up our alley....
My bunk house stay was perfect in every way. by Ruth Naylor 09/04/2015
My bunk house stay was perfect in every way. Extra bedding was supplied in the event of cold weather, plenty of towels, WiFi was available if you had to keep up with the world, and everything was clean. The Murdock's were generous with their knowledge of the area, the peace was superb, and my only discontent was lack of time; I could have stayed forever. It is a 5 star retreat in every way!
We spent 3 nights in the Bunkhouse and the whole family loved staying there. by Eric and Isabelle 08/15/2015
We spent 3 nights in the Bunkhouse and the whole family loved staying there. It\'s quiet, well equip and we loved the two dogs Boots and Inja who are very friendly.
Thanks Jerry and Tina
We have enjoyed it so much! by Dawn 06/12/2015
We have enjoyed it so much! It was like a home away from home. We wish we had more time to do all the other trips that are mentioned in your journal. We did stop at the town of Bluff and also went to the Butler Wash trail to see the ruins after visiting Hovenweep and Four Corners today!

Thanks for everything!
If you are coming to the area to get away and enjoy the beauty of the land this is the place. by The Hamers 06/11/2015
If you are coming to the area to get away and enjoy the beauty of the land this is the place. We enjoyed the scenery and the unique to sleep. When we come back this is the location we will choose again.

Owner Response:
Our Bunkhouse Barn Cabin rooms are the most unique of all our lodging. Plush western rooms in half of a Horse Barn Setting, nice bathrooms, hot showers, with a large covered lounge area, picnic tables, BBQ Grill, and a campfire bowl. Some call it Glamping, which is luxury glamour camping. We welcome this new property to our family of cabins and lodges.
Thank you for you visit with us,
Jerry and Tina
My husband and I traveled to the Monticello/Blanding area to ride on the ATV trails. by Robin Sherrif 05/06/2015
My husband and I traveled to the Monticello/Blanding area to ride on the ATV trails. We stayed at the Bunkhouse in the Trigger Room. We were honored to be their first guests in this new addition to their lovely properties! It was a unique experience. We literally stayed in the barn! A nice setup with two cozy bedrooms and adjacent bathrooms! The breezeway has been turned into a nice covered patio area, with a common sink. This would be a great place for two couples to stay, and you can bring your horses! The family size fire pit is a nice addition which sits just outside the barn door. Jerry and Tina, the owners were so kind and also gave us great trail information to ride our side by side nearby! The surrounding area is breathtaking! Not only was the Bunkhouse nice, we also got to stay in the White Pine Cabin, which was more than we could ever hope for! It is beautiful, and Tina's decorating talent makes both places so warm and inviting! I can only imagine what the rest of their properties look like! We also appreciated the fresh home baked cookies we got on arrival! I highly recommend any of their properties and do indeed, intend to return...SOON! Also, Inja and Boots (the furry camp hosts) came to visit often and gave us many loves! Thank you Jerry and Tina for an awesome Birthday vacation!

Response: Thank you for being our First Guests in the new Bunkhouse!! Hurry back!
